After Joshua Stoll of Weston, Florida, discovered Cupitol Coffee, an Evanston cafe, with his mom the day before the cherubs program started, it quickly became his go-to coffee spot for the summer.
“I have loved trying the different coffees on the menu, especially the ones that I haven’t seen at stores by my house,” Stoll said.
Downtown Evanston’s six local cafes are more than just a caffeine fix for cherubs. They are hubs of exploration where students try new drinks.
Maya Dutt of Sunnyvale, California, said she loves to go to Newport Coffee House because she can get her new favorite drink, an oat maple cold brew, something she had never tried before.
“It’s a really interesting flavor, but it’s also not overly sweet like other coffee shops,” Dutt said.
Elana Snyder of Bethesda, Maryland, said she enjoys trips to Colectivo Coffee for its “cute, cozy feel.”
Snyder said she is not a coffee-lover, but finds Colectivo’s menu appealing for all tastes.
“They have so many options for everyone, like smoothies, refreshers, chais and matchas,” Snyder said. “I always get an iced chai latte.”
