In the morning and afternoon, Cherubs are in lectures and workshops. They\u2019re working on assignments. But between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., they\u2019re let loose from the classroom, and freed to spend their time as they please.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adventurous Cherubs, such as Naomi Hsu, venture into the streets of Evanston for a bite to eat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">NAOMI HSU: I typically like to go out to study, so oftentimes for lunch I try to go to a cafe, Collectivo has a lot of great sandwiches or I\u2019ll go to Newport.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But most begin their break with a cross-campus trek to Sargent Dining Hall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MOLLY CONNELLY: It\u2019s definitely a long walk. It\u2019s a lot slower in a big group. But, I think that if you go with interesting enough people who are gonna be funny and entertaining, the walk doesn\u2019t feel so bad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That\u2019s Molly Connelly. Dorie Xie also takes advantage of the walk to Sargent to catch up with friends. I talked to her after one of her daily walks as she sat at a lunch table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DORIE XIE: It\u2019s really nice to be able to just talk about the lectures we just had, or talk about whatever\u2019s on our mind, you know sometimes we have a little tea to spill, it\u2019s a lot of fun. Yeah so, it\u2019s grown on me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">[CAFETERIA CHECK-IN SOUND]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">GRAHAM SHEA: When I\u2019m on lunch break, I\u2019m coming in, I\u2019m ready to relax. I\u2019ve just had the morning lecture, and I\u2019m just ready to dial it back.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That\u2019s Graham Shea. He\u2019s not alone. After a morning packed with lectures and assignments, break provides time and space for Cherubs to socialize and recharge their batteries for the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DORIE: We might just go and hang out in our dorm, maybe take a little nap, sit around in the common room.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But it\u2019s not all relaxation. For Cherubs with looming deadlines, the break can also serve as a time to get work done, as Sienna Tolani explains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">SIENNA TOLANI: I\u2019ll go to my room and work on whatever I need to do, since I\u2019m also doing a couple things outside of this program online that I need to work on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No matter what they choose to do with their time, midday break provides much needed freedom to the Cherubs, as well as a gap between the busy morning and the often-chaotic afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From Cherubs audio, this is Leo Beirne.
