Smaller lounges transform into card-playing salons. Dorm kitchenettes turn into aspiring Michelin star restaurants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some evening activities are what the program\u2019s community and academic associates call \u201cMandatory Fun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIf it\u2019s your birthday, you have to check in and we sing Happy Birthday to whoever\u2019s birthday it is,\u201d said Hailey Lloyd of Houston. \u201cThere\u2019s also the other kind where you can do cherub karaoke, Cherub\u2019s Got Talent and different little events the community and academic associates have for us to do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One birthday celebration became an unofficial rave in the Great Room. Nikhil Daniel of Orlando, Florida, practiced his DJ skills at the party, dubbed Izzybiza and BarceLogan, after the celebrants, Izzy Abadie of Durham, North Carolina and Logan Kreisberg of Stamford, Connecticut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kreisberg said he liked to experiment with Trader Joe\u2019s meals in the fourth-floor kitchenette. Rachel Yuan of Basking Ridge, New Jersey and her friends said they spent many evenings playing card games in the basement.
