Crystal Zhu of Cupertino, California, struggled with her black Crocs.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said the shoes were too tight for her feet to slide in all the way. After showering, Zhu said she had to \u201cshuffle around\u201d on the way back to her room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zhu also said she regrets not packing a laundry bin.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI used a plastic bag,\u201d Zhu said. \u201cIt was hard to carry my dirty clothes down to the basement and back from the washing machine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cara Huang of Los Angeles also had to find a workaround for unexpected summer rains in the Midwest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Huang didn\u2019t pack rain gear, but she said she turned the inconvenience into an opportunity to build friendships.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been borrowing people\u2019s umbrellas and stepping under them,\u201d Huang said. \u201cIt would often spark a new conversation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Joshua Stoll of Weston, Florida, only packed regular towels for showering. He said he wished he had brought a beach towel to enjoy the lake with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leah Hwang of Houston recommended cherubs check the weather beforehand to prepare more appropriate clothing for \u201cChicago\u2019s toasty summer.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Zhu and Huang emphasized the value of bringing a range of clothing. Zhu said she wished she had packed going-out outfits for Cherub Prom and birthday celebrations. Huang recommended business casual attire for professional field trips.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While she said having a variety of clothes is useful, Elana Snyder of Bethesda, Maryland, added that comfort should always come first.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing yourself and what you like to wear is the most important thing,\u201d Snyder said. \u201cIf you have clothes you love, you\u2019ll be happy no matter what.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
